EYES Toddlers (15 Months To 30 Months)

EYES Toddlers are guided through this phase of their development in a warm and stimulating atmosphere.

Here at EYES Childcare, we believe that children learn through play. We provide consistency in routines and daily experiences that encourage toddlers to feel secure while exploring their surroundings. EYES Toddlers play has a serious purpose and our trained and qualified staff allow the indoor and outdoor play to be driven by the child’s interests.

Children in the toddler room are encouraged to cooperate and act independently while developing cognitive, problem-solving skills, language development, communication and social skills. The Toddler room is set up in a way that encourages children to develop a wide range of child’s skill, such as role play, gross motor, problem solving, discovering, imagining, communicating and so on.

In EYES Toddler room the staff also helps children to be more independent in feeding himself, telling his needs and requirements, potty training etc. so that the child is gradually ready to be transitioned in the preschool room.

Pre-School (30 Months To 6 Years)

Our qualified and caring staff guide pre-school children in an inspiring environment. EYES preschool program is designed to help prepare children for kindergarten. We believe that every child is different, and we encourage them to be responsible, independent and interactive at their own pace.

EYES education system’s focus is on imparting learning to the students in a natural surrounding learning with each other with humanity, love, and discipline. The essential teachings are in subjects like language, science, mathematics through group discussions, and self-learning. Not only this, but the focus is also given on arts, sports, crafts, singing that developed their intelligence and critical thinking. Activities such as yoga, and meditation, generate positivity, and peace of mind and made them fit. It is also mandatory to do daily chores on their own with a motive to impart practical skills in them. All these help in the personality development and will increase their confidence, sense of discipline, intellect and mindfulness which is necessary even today to face the world that lies ahead.

Hello, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ida Kolenc. I am one of the owners/operators of Green Cube Childcare Center, along with my husband, Michael. I am excited to share this revolutionary vision behind our daycare’s philosophy and concept. Utilizing two decades of my own personal experience working with young children, along with a team of experts in the field, I believe Green Cube Childcare Center has decoded the essential components necessary to re-create environments which mimic nature. Essentially, we are ‘setting the natural stage’ and utilizing provocation techniques, which will allow children to explore, conceptualize, learn and grow using natural materials. It’s philosophy, inspired by nature, translates beautifully into a curriculum that fosters, not only a great academic foundation, but a true connection to the Earth, themselves and others. Mindfulness and self-awareness will also be incorporated in the center’s programs; as it consolidates the relationship between nature connectedness and human well-being.

I have been an Early Childhood Educator since 2004. I graduated with honours from Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. My academic achievements landed me an opportunity to work alongside a Child- Life Specialist, at Sick Kids Hospital. I also have experience working in privately owned daycare centers. I have worked with children of various age groups during these past 18 years working in the field . In 2013, I was hired by the York Cathoic District School Board to work as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE). Implementing the Full Day Kindergarten Program in Catholic Schools has truly enriched and expanded my knowledge. I continue to develop my skills as a professional in this field, by keeping up with current research and taking courses in child-development.

Alongside me, as a partner/owner/operator, is my husband, Michael. He is my best friend and shares my passion for working with children. Michael has been successful as a Realtor and Entrepreneur. He is very inspired by my vision and my work experience in this field. Together, combining his Business background and my extensive experience, we believe the children in our center will thrive; learning and growing in harmony with each other and our planet Earth. We have two beautiful daughters whom we love so much. Being parents ourselves, we learned the importance of genuine love and care that every child needs, and the importance of learning and development in those first few years of life. As I enter the next phase of my journey working with children, my goal is to continue to teach children to become more aware of themselves and others.In my preschool, children will exceed standard academic objectives and they will develop a true love for learning as they explore, discover and grow.
