EYES Child Care program is dedicated to ensuring accessibility and inclusion for all children and families, including those from priority populations. To achieve this, we have a range of resources and strategies in place:

  1. Physical Accessibility: Our childcare facilities are designed to be physically accessible to individuals with disabilities. This includes features such as ramps, wide doorways, accessible bathrooms, and designated parking spaces. We also ensure that our indoor and outdoor play areas are safe and inclusive for children with mobility challenges.
  2. Qualified Staff: Our staff members receive training and professional development on inclusive practices, diversity awareness, and supporting children with special needs. We have qualified educators, including Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) and specialists in areas such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, and behavioral support, to provide individualized support to children with diverse needs.
  3. Adaptive Equipment and Materials: We have a variety of adaptive equipment and materials available to support children with disabilities or special needs. This may include sensory toys, communication devices, adaptive seating, and assistive technology to facilitate learning and participation.
  4. Collaboration with Community Partners: We collaborate with community organizations, service providers, and support groups to ensure that we have access to additional resources and support for children and families. This may include partnerships with organizations that specialize in supporting children with disabilities, cultural or linguistic diversity, or other specific needs.
  5. Culturally Responsive Practices: We recognize the importance of cultural competence and responsiveness in supporting diversity and inclusion. Our program promotes cultural awareness, celebrates diversity, and respects the languages, traditions, and customs of all families in our community. We provide materials and resources in multiple languages and offer culturally relevant programming to ensure that all children feel represented and valued.
  6. Individualized Support Plans: We develop individualized support plans for children with special needs or unique circumstances, in collaboration with their families and relevant professionals. These plans outline specific goals, strategies, and accommodations to support the child’s development and inclusion within our program.
  7. Regular Communication and Feedback: We maintain open and ongoing communication with families to ensure that their needs and concerns are addressed effectively. We seek feedback from families, children, and staff members on our accessibility and inclusion practices, and we continuously evaluate and improve our services based on this feedback.

To ensure that our location is accessible to priority populations, we conduct outreach and engagement efforts to connect with underserved communities and identify barriers to access. We actively seek input from community members, stakeholders, and advocacy groups to understand their needs and preferences. Additionally, we provide information and resources in multiple languages and formats to ensure that all families can access our services and participate fully in our program.
